I start with t-shirts that I launder and then cut apart.

Next, I design the skirt by adding pieces and placing colors for balance and interest.

This skirt is a custom order to include my friend's favorite Wilcox t-shirts.

I sew the pieces together.

T-Shirt and Wool Skirts
Each skirt I make is one-of-a-kind and made from upcycled t-shirts and sweaters. I gather interesting colors and prints and try to keep as much of the original garment as possible. Look close, and you will find pockets, buttons, and trim. My wool skirts are made from 100% wool, merino wool, and cashmere.
The one consistent feature of my skirts is the yoga waistband that allows the wearer flexibility in adjusting the skirt for comfort in where to wear the waist and in length. The waistband material is the only new material in each skirt and is made of high-quality, performance, cotton/spandex.
T-shirt skirts are all preshrunk & wash and wear. Since wool is soil resistant, wool skirts rarely require laundering . They can be spot cleaned or hand washed and dried flat.
Cashmere Infinity Scarves
My cashmere infinity scarves are made from 100% cashmere sweaters. These are hard to find! Over the course of the year, I gather as many cashmere sweaters as I can. I wash and dry the sweaters: cashmere shrinks some, but doesn't seize up and felt like wool.
I cut the sweaters apart and then lay the pieces out to create interest. Finally, I sew the pieces together. The result is a scarf that is lightweight, with a soft drape.
Cashmere is non-irritating because it is made from soft undercoat fibers. It can be hand or machine washed gentle with low agitation, dried flat, and can be fluffed gently in low-heat dryer for a few minutes.

A finished scarf will loop twice to create a soft, lightweight drape.
